..INDIAN SOCIETY OF TRANSLATIONAL RESEARCH..

ISTR is a registered society (under the society registration act 1860) that came into being in March 2013. The founder members of this society were Prof. N. K. Ganguly, Prof. Rajendra Prasad, Prof G. C. Kundu, Dr. Suman Dhar, Dr. Gauri Nath, Dr Tapan Chaudhary, Prof. Subrat Kumar Acharya, Mr Sujit Chakrabarti and Dr. Tapas Kundu. The society originated as a means of bringing together scientists all over the nation to think, discuss and act on strategies of bringing the vast body of Indian basic research to the people. The society specifically aims at building interdisciplinary network of scientists with complementary skill sets that can be put together to spark translation. With this in mind, ISTR conducts meetings, workshops and seminars in order to facilitate this process and improve awareness and conversation about the translation potential of ongoing research. ISTR has conducted several national and international meetings in different parts of the country with the present workshop-seminar being the first one at AIIMS. With an ever-increasing body of members, we hope that the aims and objectives of ISTR are fulfilled and that the people of India are able to experience firsthand the impact of scientific research and progress that goes on in our laboratories.
